JHB 894 Multi-Brand Parts Manager

This iconic dealership requires a Multi-Brand Parts Manager who will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Parts Department across four franchise brands.
The role ensures optimum parts availability, inventory control, profitability, customer satisfaction, and compliance with manufacturer standards. The successful candidate will lead a team of parts personnel while managing relationships with suppliers, workshop departments, manufacturers, and external customers.
Remuneration: R30 000 – R40 000 (Highly Negotiable) + Strong Incentive Structure + Company Vehicle + Standard Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
Parts Department Management
- Manage the daily operations of the Parts Department across all franchise brands
- Ensure the department consistently meets profitability and gross profit targets
- Develop and implement strategies to increase parts sales and market share
- Monitor departmental performance through regular analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain manufacturer standards and dealership policies
Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure optimal stock holding levels across all brands
- Monitor stock ordering, replenishment, and inventory turnover
- Minimize obsolescence and aged stock through proactive management
- Conduct regular stock counts and annual stock takes
- Maintain accurate inventory records and controls
System Management
- Utilize and manage the Evolve Dealer Management System (DMS) effectively
- Ensure accurate processing of orders, receipts, transfers, returns, and invoicing
- Generate and interpret reports to improve operational performance and profitability
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets
- Monitor gross profit, stock value, stock turn, and departmental expenses
- Control parts purchasing and maintain favourable supplier relationships
- Ensure adherence to dealership financial controls and procedures
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop the parts team
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs
- Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company policies
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers
- Support workshop and service departments to maximize technician productivity
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Maintain strong relationships with fleet, trade, and retail customers
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with franchise standards and manufacturer requirements
- Adhere to health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reporting requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) essential
- Relevant Automotive Parts Management qualification advantageous
- Valid Driver's License
Experience:
- Minimum 4 to 5 years' proven Parts Management experience within a franchised motor dealership environment
- Experience managing parts operations for more than one franchise brand is essential
- Demonstrated success in achieving departmental profitability and inventory management targets
- Experience managing large stock holdings and multiple supplier relationships
- Motor Industry experience Essential!
System Requirements:
- Advanced working knowledge of the Evolve Dealer Management System (DMS) is mandatory
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
