Suzuki plans to modernise brand identity with new logo

Suzuki Motor Corporation is set to introduce a reimagined version of its famous emblem, representing the marque's first major brand identity update in more than two decades.

The updated design philosophy centres on Suzuki's new corporate "By Your Side" positioning, which reflects the manufacturer's historic dedication to placing customers at the heart of its operations. This customer-first approach has remained unchanged since the company's establishment, though the visual expression has now evolved to meet contemporary expectations.

The redesign carefully preserves the recognisable "S" outline that has become integral to Suzuki's global recognition, whilst incorporating flatter design elements that better suit digital applications and modern aesthetic preferences. This strategic balance ensures brand continuity whilst signalling progressive thinking.

Environmental considerations have also influenced the transformation. Chrome plating, a traditional automotive finishing technique, has been replaced by advanced high-brightness silver paint technology. This change reduces the ecological footprint of production whilst creating a more contemporary visual appeal that reflects the company's commitment to sustainable practices.

The updated emblem will first appear on concept vehicles at Japan's premier automotive showcase, the Japan Mobility Show 2025, before being progressively implemented across Suzuki's product portfolio.

The company has articulated its broader ambition to become what it describes as "infrastructure mobility closely connected with people's lives", emphasising adaptability and responsiveness to changing consumer needs and technological advancement.

President and Representative Director, Toshihiro Suzuki, emphasised the symbolic importance of the redesign: "Our refreshed emblem captures the essence of Suzuki's foundational principle, creating meaningful products through unwavering customer focus, whilst demonstrating our readiness to tackle future opportunities.

The “By Your Side” commitment represents our pledge to remain a trusted companion in our customers' mobility needs, delivering solutions that enhance daily life and support sustainable progress."
