The appointment forms part of the RMI’s ongoing drive to strengthen its operational capability and support members in a motor industry that is being reshaped by regulation, digitalisation and changing business models.
RMI Chief Executive Officer Ipeleng Mabusela welcomed Ferreira to the organisation, saying his experience would bring valuable operational depth to the executive team. Ipeleng says Henk has a proven ability to turn strategy into practical results and had built strong expertise across automotive finance, insurance, dealer operations and digital business development.
Henk joins the RMI after more than 23 years in senior leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Executive Head: Sales and Partnerships at M-Sure, part of Motus Holdings. In that position, he carried profit and loss responsibility for a national dealer network that included both independent and franchised businesses.
His time at M-Sure gave him direct insight into the demands facing dealers, from commercial pressures and compliance requirements to the need for efficient operational systems.
Before Motus, he spent seven years at AutoTrader SA. There he played a role in expanding digital business channels in sectors including commercial vehicles, agriculture, motorcycles and leisure. He was also involved in building governance structures, reporting tools and operational processes to support growth.
Henk has experience in FSCA and FAIS-regulated environments and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, as well as an Associate professional designation through the Insurance Institute of South Africa.
He has also been nominated for the Motus Future Leaders Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science and plans to continue his Master of Philosophy studies in Innovation and Development at the University of Johannesburg.
