The site complements the company’s existing Centurion operation and is intended to improve access, flexibility and service for transport operators, fleet owners and entrepreneurs looking for dependable pre-owned trucks.
The expansion also reflects the wider history of the TruckStore brand. Launched in 2001, TruckStore was created to professionalise the sale of used commercial vehicles and has since grown into one of Daimler Truck’s best-known used-truck operations, with a broad presence across Europe.
South Africa became the first market outside Europe to introduce TruckStore in 2012, underlining the country’s importance in the group’s international strategy and its role as a gateway to the broader Southern African transport economy.
With the used-truck market regaining balance after several volatile years, the new West Rand facility places TruckStore closer to major freight routes, industrial areas and mining activity.

For Daimler Truck Southern Africa, the investment signals confidence in the resilience of the regional trucking sector and in the value that quality used vehicles can bring beyond their first owner.
As transport businesses continue to watch costs and maximise uptime, TruckStore’s latest move positions the brand to serve that demand with both local relevance and international pedigree.
Maretha Gerber (President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa) says the opening of the West Rand facility is a clear demonstration of their commitment to Southern Africa. “We are invested, we are present, and we are here to stay. At Daimler Truck Southern Africa, our purpose is to keep Africa moving by creating real value for our customers, and TruckStore plays a critical role in supporting customers through their re-fleeting cycles,” she says.
Wolf Edmayr (General Manager of TruckStore) highlighted the strategic timing of the expansion: “The investment comes at a time when the used-truck market is stabilising following a period of significant fluctuation between 2023 and 2025. As demand and supply rebalance, used trucks continue to offer a cost-effective and dependable solution for transport operators. The West Rand has established itself as the hub of the used-truck market in Gauteng. This is where our customers look for used trucks when they are in the market. It was essential for us to be present here.”
