Better warranty and service terms will now be part of the package when buying a TVS motorcycle, scooter, or 3-wheeler in Southern Africa.
The improved warranty and service terms do not affect the price. The TVS brand is distributed by ETG Logistics in Southern Africa.
The range-topping TVS Apache R310 now comes with a three-year unlimited kilometre warranty for engine and transmission (excluding wear and tear parts) whereas previously owners only had a two-year unlimited kilometres warranty. Service intervals on this model have been extended from 5 000 kilometres or six months to 10 000 kilometres or six months.
Next up in the TVS model line-up is the Apache RTR200, which now benefits from a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty for engine and transmission (excluding wear and tear parts) and service intervals of 6 000 kilometres or six months.
The TVS 125 NTorq scooters, Raider 125, Trak 150, HLX 125 and 150 models all now have improved warranties of three years or 50 000 km (excluding wear and tear parts), which is a significant improvement on the previous three-year / 30 000-kilometre warranty. Service intervals have also been extended to six months or 6 000 kilometres for the NTorq and Raider models, and six months or 4 000 kilometres for the Trak 150 and HLX range.
Says Hans Greyling, Business Head for TVS South Africa: “After extensive consultation with buyers in the sport bike and delivery motorcycle segments, we realised that an improvement is required on the warranty and service aspects of owning and operating a TVS motorcycle.
“We are confident that the improved warranty and service terms will be well received by the target market as we have now improved the value-for-money offering from TVS without increasing the selling price of our models.”
Retail pricing for the models benefitting from the improved warranty and service terms is as follows:
Apache RR310 (R79 999), Apache RTR200 (R41 999), Raider 125 (R28 999), NTorq 125 (R25 999), NTorq 125 Racing Edition (R27 999), Trak 150 (R24 999), HLX 150 (R23 999) and the HLX 125 (R22 999).
