Nissan shows off new Patrol and e-Power Qashqai

Nissan Egypt is redefining sustainable mobility in Africa with the introduction of its third-generation e-Power technology used on the Nissan Qashqai and the opportunity to test drive the iconic new Patrol for the first time in Africa.

The new Nissan Patrol will be available in South Africa.

The Qashqai, with new e-Power, represents a breakthrough in electrified driving, offering an EV-like experience without the need for charging infrastructure. This latest generation delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency in the C-SUV segment, achieving 4.6 L/100 km (WLTP) CO₂ of just 102g/km, claims Nissan and in the case of the Qashqai a claimed range of up to 1 200km.

Unlike other electrified models, e-Power uses a petrol engine solely as a generator to charge the battery, while propulsion comes entirely from the electric motor. This design eliminates range anxiety and provides instant torque and smooth acceleration, making it ideal for markets where charging infrastructure remains limited.

Complementing this technological leap, the African media will get the opportunity to experience the New Patrol, a symbol of strength and capability for the first time in Africa after its official continental debut earlier in the year.

Nissan Africa President, Jordi Vila, says the two-day immersive driving experience is a perfect showcase for the company’s leadership of the automotive electrification journey. "This event underscores Nissan's commitment to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of African markets. The Nissan Red Sea SUV Drive affirms our deep belief in the importance of the Egyptian market and its pivotal role in the region."

The third generation of e-Power was introduced in the Qashqai in Europe in September, offering even more refinement, lower consumption and emissions, with no compromise on performance.

The Qashqai features the sophisticated N-Design grade, with premium enhancements such as a panoramic roof and a 3D Around View Monitor (AVM) to create a premium driving experience.
