Nissan and Premcar have launched the Navara PRO-4X Warrior – a vehicle purpose-built for the most demanding on- and off-road conditions South Africa has to offer.
What is it?
Developed by Australian engineering partner, Premcar, the Warrior introduces ruthless performance, greater utility and a more rugged design to the tried-and-tested Navara formula, delivering a new level of road mastery, it is said.
Engine:
At the Warrior’s heart sits a 2.5-litre DDTi high-output diesel engine, capable of delivering 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
Suspension:
It also sports an upgraded suspension system featuring lifted ride height, improved springs and recalibrated dampers for maximum wheel articulation and control. With a ground clearance of 232mm, it sits higher than the standard PRO-4X’s 221mm.
Increased front and rear track widths enhance stability on rough terrain, making the Warrior equally capable on rocky trails and sandy stretches. Equipped with LT 275/65/R17 MAXXIS RAZR all-terrain tyres, the Warrior delivers good traction and durability for serious off-road enthusiasts.
A revised rear suspension set-up further enhances load stability, ensuring that cargo remains secure even on uneven surfaces.
Exterior:
The Warrior sets itself apart with attractively aggressive styling cues, including a blacked-out front grille, door handles, roof rack, side steps and wheels, red accents and the iconic black and red Nissan badge.
Interior:
The cabin balances rugged durability with premium comfort. Warrior-branded black seats with red contrast stitching, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a configurable 7-inch driver assist display, and dual-zone climate control combine to imbue the Warrior with a sense of premium modernity.
Safety:
For drivers’ peace of mind, the Warrior comes loaded with an array of advanced safety features. Chief among these is Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility suite, which includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and an intelligent around-view monitor with an off-road mode that delivers a complete bird’s-eye perspective of the vehicle’s surroundings.
Warranty:
Premcar has matched Nissan’s 6-year/150 000-kilometre warranty on the base vehicle on all Warrior-enhanced components and modifications.
The Premcar Warrior will be available through Nissan’s nationwide dealer network, will complement Nissan’s 4x4 line-up as it expands its footprint in the off-road segment across the continent. Nissan is also set to introduce another special edition to complement the 2025 Navara line-up this year.
Price:
The Premcar Warrior is priced at R924 000.
