Nissan South Africa has announced significant price reductions of between 4% and 10% across its Magnite turbo classes.
Speaking about the adjustment, Maciej Klenkiewicz, Managing Director (MD) of Nissan South Africa, explains: “We wanted to align our model pricing to the needs of the local market, giving South African drivers access to higher-spec compact SUVs with exceptional performance and 5-star Global NCAP-rated safety features. We’re confident this will appeal to increasingly price-sensitive buyers and attract new fans to the exceptional value offered by the Nissan brand.”
Accordingly, Nissan South Africa has reduced the prices of all its Magnite turbo grades, with the following adjustments effective immediately:
Visia MT – a R13 800 price decrease from R309 700 to R295 900.
Acenta MT – a R10 200 price decrease from R340 100 to R329 900.
Acenta CVT – a R25 600 price decrease from R370 500 to R344 900.
Acenta+ CVT – a R40 800 price decrease from R410 700 to R369 900.
The latest turbocharged Magnite variants offer a significant jump in power, from 53kW to 74kW and torque of 160Nm. The 1 litre, three-cylinder turbo mill, is connected to either a 5-speed manual or Nissan’s CVT.
The new Magnite is now also one of the safest compact SUVs on the road with the introduction of a host of new upgrades. Its six airbags, superior electronic stability control (ESC) and 40+ other safety features have earned the Magnite a 5-star safety rating under the Global NCAP’s new test protocols, making it the first compact SUV sold in South Africa to do so, says Nissan.
Other notable safety features include: three-point driver and passenger seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters; ISOFIX child seat anchorage; an anti-lock braking system (ABS); electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD); hydraulic brake assist (HBA); vehicle dynamic control (VDC); electronic stability control (ESC); a traction control system (TCS), hill start assist (HAS); and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
“At these more accessible price-points, and with the added value that comes standard in each vehicle, Nissan is now in a much stronger position to compete in and lead the South African compact SUV market. Moreover, the introduction of the Magnite Move panel van is helping us meet the growing needs of small businesses, further broadening the brand’s appeal,” Maciej concludes.
