A new incarnation of the popular (1.5 million sales globally in more than 90 countries) Renault Captur is now available.
The new version has been highly anticipated by the local market, following the introduction of Captur Phase 2 in 2017.
What’s new?
Design
Through its enhanced SUV styling, the Renault Captur is notably more modern in design, boasting more athletic curves and a raised waist. The SUV aesthetics has been boosted by unique styling components, such as the front and rear protection skid plates and the protective moulding that runs the entire length of the lower body and the wheel arches.
UNMATCHED SAFETY
The All-New Renault Captur holds a prestigious 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating with six airbags & Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Hill Start Assist (HSA). The Captur still offers front and rear park assist with the reverse camera to facilitate easier reversing into and out of parking spaces.
SMARTER TECHNOLOGY
The Smart Cockpit offers best-in-class in Renault technology, such as the prominent 9.3” multimedia screen, which is one of the largest in the segment. The slightly curved portrait tablet brings a distinct modernity to the passenger compartment, with its curvature – angled towards the driver – improving the definition of its screen. The Renault EASY LINK multimedia system presents an all-connected and customised multimedia experience, onboard navigation and infotainment services.
INTERIOR QUALITY
The floating centre console is a key component of the All-New Captur’s Smart Cockpit. Elevated for improved driving position ergonomics and to make the gear lever easier to manoeuvre, its latest embodiment gives the passenger compartment a more streamlined experience. Above all, it frees up space for storage and for the location of the smartphone’s wireless charging system.
SPIRITED PERFORMANCE
The 1.3 turbo, 113kW Formula 1-inspired engine offers good low-down torque of 270Nm, providing better performance and outstanding fuel consumption from only 6.6L/100km, thanks to a 7-speed automatic Efficiency Dual Clutch (EDC) gearbox.
The Renault Captur is available in Ivory White; Marine Blue; Mercury Silver; Oyster Grey; Passion Red and Ocean Blue.
The 1.3L Turbo EDC Zen will be retailing at R454 999 and the 1.3L Turbo EDC Intens at R 499 999.
Volkswagen has added two new derivatives to its T-Cross line-up for the 2025 model year. The T-Cross has been the best-selling Volkswagen SUV with over 36 000 cars sold since its launch in 2019.
Volkswagen found a gap in it SUV line-up between the range-topping Touareg and the Tiguan and will fill it with its new Tayron set to arrive locally in the second half of 2025 when pricing and engine specifications will be announced. The Tayron will launch with two equipment lines - Life and R-Line.
