More on the new Ranger Tremor, Platinum

There have been extensive reports on Ford’s two new versions of its locally produced Ranger bakkie, the Tremor (main photo) and the Platinum.

Both versions and the pricing are now available, and just to recapture in short what they offer:

Tremor:

This bakkie is for the more adventurous and serious off-road going customers.

The Ranger Tremor is equipped with the same suspension upgrades as the recently launched Wildtrak X, including specially developed Bilstein Position-Sensitive Dampers, 24 mm higher ground clearance and a 30 mm wider track.

Based on the XLT series with a 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine (154 kW/500 Nm) and full-time 4WD, it incorporates easily cleaned interior trim for hard-working applications.

Also debuting on the Tremor is the Pro Trailer Backup Assist with Trailer Reverse Guidance, which is now standard on the Tremor, Wildtrak X, Ranger Raptor and Ranger Platinum.

Platinum:

Ranger Platinum is positioned as the pinnacle of the range, offering exceptional versatility with the luxury, comfort and refinement of a premium SUV.

It boasts eye-catching sophistication with silk chrome exterior finishes, Matrix LED headlamps and 20-inch alloy wheels as standard and an interior characterised by premium leather trim, 10-way power adjustable heat and cooled front seats, and a 12.4-inch instrument cluster.

It is powered by Ford’s 184 kW/600 Nm 3.0L V6 Diesel engine, with full-time four-wheel drive for good off-road control and towing ability.
