Ford South Africa will expand its Everest line-up in late 2026 with the arrival of the Everest Tremor. This new variant is positioned as a more off-road capable model, building on the success of the Ranger Tremor while retaining the refinement expected from the Everest range.
What is it?
The Everest Tremor is a specialised addition to the SUV line-up, designed for customers who want enhanced off-road ability without losing everyday comfort. It sits above the standard Everest models by offering unique hardware such as Bilstein® Position-Sensitive Dampers, new springs, and General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres.
These upgrades provide an extra 26mm of ground clearance compared to the rest of the Everest range. The Tremor is also the only Everest variant equipped with Rock Crawl Drive Mode, which optimises traction on loose and rocky surfaces.
Engine:
Under the bonnet, the Everest Tremor comes exclusively with Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine. It produces 184kW and 600Nm, ensuring strong performance both on and off the road. The engine is paired with a 3 500kg maximum braked towing capacity, making it more versatile for hauling than other Everest models. This powertrain is standard on the Tremor, whereas other Everest variants offer smaller engine options.

Interior:
Inside, the Tremor distinguishes itself with Tremor-embossed leather accented seats, ebony-coloured trim, and durable all-weather floor mats. These features emphasise practicality and ruggedness while maintaining the premium comfort associated with the Everest range.
Compared to other models, the Tremor’s cabin is tailored for adventurous use, with materials chosen for durability in harsher conditions. The SYNC 4 infotainment system and Ford’s suite of safety technologies remain standard.
Exterior:
The exterior of the Tremor sets it apart with a honeycomb grille, auxiliary LED lamps, a steel bash plate, heavy-duty side steps, and exclusive Tremor badging. It will also be offered in Command Grey, a colour unique to this variant.
These design elements highlight its off-road focus compared to the more refined styling of the standard Everest models.
Pricing and warranty details have not yet been announced, but Ford South Africa has confirmed they will be revealed closer to the Q4 2026 launch.
