What is it?

Offered in two well-equipped trims, the Tiggo 7 CSH combines the brand’s hallmark value-for-money proposition with the added benefits of hybrid performance and efficiency, says Chery.

Engine:

Powering the Tiggo 7 CSH is a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 265kW and 310Nm of torque.

Thanks to an 18.3kWh battery, the Tiggo 7 CSH is capable of travelling up to 93km on electric power alone, with a total combined range of up to 1 200km – enough to travel from Cape Town to Bloemfontein on a single tank, is claimed. Power is transferred to the front wheels via Chery’s Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

Charging is convenient, with a full recharge taking 45 minutes to 1 hour using a DC fast charger, or between 4 and 8 hours when plugged into an AC charger.

Exterior:

Like the standard model, the Tiggo 7 CSH boasts a bold and contemporary design, complemented by premium finishes and distinctive styling elements. Available in Plus and Ultra trims, both variants come standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes.

Automatic LED headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights and rear fog lamps are standard across both trims. The range-topping Ultra specification further adds front fog lamps, a panoramic sunroof and a power-operated tailgate.

Interior:

Inside, the Tiggo 7 CSH impresses with a high level of standard specification. The Plus trim features leather upholstery, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and push-button start, among other amenities.

The range-topping Ultra boasts a driver’s seat with memory function, heating and ventilation. The front passenger also benefits from four-way power adjustment, as well as heating and ventilation.

Both Plus and Ultra models feature a dual 12.3-inch display set-up, comprising a fully digital instrument cluster and a central touchscreen.

Connectivity is well catered for, with standard Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports for both front and rear passengers, and an additional USB-C port up front. Intelligent Voice Command is also included across the range — drivers can simply say “Hello Chery” to activate it.

A 50-watt wireless charging pad is also standard on both trims.

While the Plus is equipped with a six-speaker audio system, the Ultra features an upgraded eight-speaker Sony sound system.

Prices:

Tiggo 7 CSH Plus (R619 900 Introductory launch price valid for 3 months will be R599 900). Tiggo 7 CSH Ultra (R679 900).
