The BYD SEAL 7, a sleek and powerful sedan, boasts impressive specs, including its range, ease of handling, acceleration and battery capacity.

BYD’s latest offering to the South African market, the BYD SEAL 7, is a welcome addition to the DOLPHIN and ATTO 3 hatchbacks, thereby addressing the diverse needs and scenarios of local consumers seeking green mobility solutions. These models feature BYD’s innovative Blade Battery technology, ensuring safety, efficiency and superior performance.

As a global leader in electric vehicles, BYD has a rich history spanning over two decades. Founded in 1995, BYD (Build Your Dreams) began as a battery manufacturer and expanded into the automotive sector in 2003. Today, BYD is at the forefront of the EV revolution, with a presence in over 50 countries and a commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

“We are here to ensure South Africans are no longer left behind in the global electric vehicle trend. It is vital for the public to get the opportunity to test drive BYD’s latest technology and to experience the new EV lifestyle,” says Steve Chang, General Manager of BYD South Africa.

In line with this vision, BYD aims to decrease the rise in global temperature by 1 degree through its extensive product line-up and innovative technologies. The company's electric vehicles eliminate tailpipe emissions, significantly reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

In South Africa, where load-shedding is a pressing concern, BYD's EVs offer a reliable solution. Equipped with advanced battery technology, these vehicles can be charged via solar, AC or DC, ensuring uninterrupted mobility.

There are two models, one with rear wheel drive and one with all-wheel drive.

The all-wheel drive model has 670 Nm and can reach 100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds with a 520 km range (WLTP) according to BYD while the rear-only drive model has 380 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with a 570 km range from the 82.56 kWh battery.

BYD South Africa is committed to providing affordable, efficient and environmentally friendly transport solutions, says the manufacturer.
