BYD South Africa, a leading player in the electric vehicle (EV) market, hosted an exclusive Ride and Drive event to showcase the latest addition to its portfolio, the BYD SEAL 7, alongside the ATTO 3 and DOLPHIN models.

BYD’s latest offering to the South African market, the BYD SEAL 7, is a welcome addition to the DOLPHIN and ATTO 3 hatchbacks, thereby addressing the diverse needs and scenarios of local consumers seeking green mobility solutions. These models feature BYD’s innovative Blade Battery technology, ensuring safety, efficiency and superior performance.

In South Africa, where load-shedding is a pressing concern, BYD's EVs offer a reliable solution. Equipped with advanced battery technology, these vehicles can be charged via solar, AC or DC, ensuring uninterrupted mobility.
There are two models, one with rear wheel drive and one with all-wheel drive.
The all-wheel drive model has 670 Nm and can reach 100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds with a 520 km range (WLTP) according to BYD while the rear-only drive model has 380 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with a 570 km range from the 82.56 kWh battery.

The BYD Atto 8 is the latest addition to the Chinese brand’s line-up in South Africa. Unlike the Sealion 7, which is a midsize fully electric coupe-SUV, the Atto 8 is a large seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUV designed to combine practicality with extended driving range. It is offered locally in two versions: Premium and Performance AWD.
