With over 22 000 global orders and a 21% Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) share, the Junior reflects strong demand.
What is it?
The Alfa Romeo Junior offers South African drivers a premium compact SUV electric vehicle (EV) option and marks an important step in the brand’s evolution toward electrified mobility.
Power:
The Junior will be offered in two fully electric variants namely the Elettrica and the Elettrica Veloce, each featuring a single front-wheel drive motor.
The Elettrica (54kW/h) delivers 118kW and 260Nm, achieving 0 -100km/h in 9 seconds and a top speed of 152km/h, while the range-topping Elettrica Veloce (54kW/h) produces 207kW and 345Nm, sprinting from 0 - 100km/h in just 5.9 seconds in reaching 200km/h.
Exterior:
The Junior measures under 4.2 metres, and the exterior reflects the brand’s design language, featuring the iconic scudetto grille, the signature trilobo front, and a sleek short-cut tail that enhances aerodynamic efficiency. A laser-etched biscione (big snake) emblem on the C-pillar connects Alfa Romeo’s rich heritage with its electrified future.
Each trim showcases Alfa Romeo’s blend of sophistication and sportiness: the Junior Elettrica features 18-inch alloy wheels, a Heritage front grille, blue-and-black ‘Icona’ seats and a premium 6-speaker audio system, while the Elettrica Veloce adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a Progresso grille, black-and-red ‘Spiga’ seating, a contrasting black roof, Veloce decals and red brake calipers for a more assertive stance.
Safety:
Both models introduce Alfa Romeo’s most advanced driver-assistance technologies, including Level 2 ADAS with lane centring, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, LED matrix headlights, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, and blind spot detection.
Interior:
Inside, the Junior features a driver-focused cockpit where premium materials meet modern technology.
The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensure seamless connectivity and intuitive control.
