JHB866 - Commercial Vehicle Parts Sales Executive

Our client a well-established commercial vehicle dealership is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Commercial Vehicle Parts Sales Executive to join their Parts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling commercial vehicle parts, processing customer orders, maintaining excellent customer service, and achieving departmental sales and gross profit targets. To achieve the company profitability and service delivery objectives while managing productive stock holding required to sustain the expected supply rate.
Responsibilities:
- Process parts sales orders
- Achieve Gross Profit objective
- Identify and supply correct parts to support repair
- Place orders for parts not in stock
- Implement solutions for parts not available ex stock or from suppliers
- Follow up orders to suppliers
- Feedback to management
- Feedback to customers
- Manage and monitor BO
- Attend relevant training
- Attending stock take
Profitability:
- Parts Revenue / Profitability target
- Maintain optimum stock holding levels
- Back-order tracking and ageing
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
- To ensure that all customers are shown the utmost courtesy and consideration
- To ensure that all parts are in first class condition and suitable for use for which purchased
- To supply the best service at the shortest possible time to ensure the customers’ vehicles have the shortest possible down-time
- ETA updates must be communicated to internal and external clients before COB the day after parts is ordered
- All communication/quotes must be replied to within 1 hour of receiving it
Cost Control:
- To ensure stock is kept in good condition
- To ensure that stock is only issued in accordance with policy regarding payment or charge
- To guard against unauthorized withdrawal from stock, in terms of issuing parts without a valid job card number and or without upfront payment of account facilities
- To make sure that the customer’s account is not blocked and/or in arrears before issuing the parts
- To control stock in such a manner that losses are kept to a minimum
Staff:
- To assist all company staff in parts identification and, if required, replacements
- To assist in training new recruits in the parts department
Administration:
- To ensure all paperwork, documentation, requisitions are properly recorded within the stock control system(Pinnacle)
- To ensure that all credit sales are made to an authorized signatory or approved account
- To ensure that all parts issues to workshop has a job number before issuing the parts
- To ensure all accounts invoices are invoiced with an order number if the client works with order numbers
- To keep all parts catalogues, manufacturers list, etc. updated and tidy
Communications:
- To ensure the Parts Manager is kept aware of stock movement
- To notify Parts Manager of any difference noted when inspecting incoming goods
- To maintain good helpful relationships with all customers and their representatives
Marketing:
- To assist if required in any marketing activity as required
Finance:
- To ensure all transactions take place according to company policy
- To ensure security of all cash received
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3years in same or similar role within a truck dealership or parts environment in the Motor industry
- Matric certificate or equivalent
- Unendorsed driver’s license
- Target and results driven
- Persuasive communication
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Technical orientation and product knowledge
- Attention to detail
- Professional appearance, impact with customers
- Computer literacy
- Willingness to work flexible hours/overtime / standby
- Team player
- Willingness to comply with given standards, guidelines, procedures and instructions
