These include Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia, reflecting South Africa’s role as a key automotive manufacturing and export hub.

The new D-Max has been engineered specifically for Africa’s diverse operating conditions. Industries such as agriculture, mining, construction and logistics are expected to benefit from its durability and capability, Isuzu says.

Features include a high-tensile steel load box, reinforced tailgate with a centre hinge and locally developed underbody stone protection, all designed to withstand demanding environments.

Mava Landu, Department Executive for Rest of Africa Markets, noted that Africa Month provides an opportunity to reflect on partnerships across the continent and Isuzu’s role in enabling mobility and economic activity. Lebo Rakgekola, Department Executive for the South African Customs Union (SACU), added that shipping the new D-Max demonstrates confidence in Africa’s future, with the vehicle offering safety, durability and reliability to support businesses and communities.

Isuzu’s dealer network is central to its strategy, extending from metropolitan centres to remote rural regions where dependable transport is vital. Supported by parts availability, technical expertise and aftersales infrastructure, these dealerships help customers maximise productivity in sectors critical to local economies. Many fleet operators who invested in the KB-series pick-up continue to rely on Isuzu today, highlighting the brand’s long-term value and trusted partnerships, the bakkie manufacturer claims.

The new D-Max also incorporates enhanced safety technologies; towing capability and a driver-focused cabin suited for long-distance travel.
