Isuzu brings joy with ‘Buckets of Blessings’

As the festive season brings people together, ISUZU MOTORS South Africa, in partnership with Rise Against Hunger NPO and Love Story NPC, continued its tradition of making a meaningful difference in the communities it serves.

Through the ISUZU CARES, I CARE TOO employee volunteerism drive, ISUZU employees came together to pack and deliver 400 “Buckets of Blessings,” filled with essential grocery items, to communities in need. The bulk groceries were procured through Feed the Nation Foundation PBO, which contributed R50 000 towards ISUZU’s food hampers.

This year, 200 buckets were packed by ISUZU’s Johannesburg-based employees and delivered to four Early Childhood Development Centres in Diepsloot, namely Sunshine Pre-School, Mother’s Love Daycare Centre, Green Pastures Daycare Centre and Siyakhula Daycare Centre.

Another 200 buckets, packed by ISUZU employees in Gqeberha, were distributed to two local organisations that support vulnerable families in the area, namely House of Prayer Ministries in Bethelsdorp and Ekuphumleni Joe Slovo Community Project.

“On behalf of Sunshine Daycare and the Diepsloot community, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to ISUZU MOTORS South Africa. Their generous support will ensure that our children have food on the table during the December holidays when the schools are closed. We deeply appreciate the generous donation, which brings so much hope to our community,” says Sylvia Khalushi, Assistant Principal at Sunshine Daycare.

The Buckets of Blessings initiative reflects ISUZU’s commitment to making a difference and supporting communities in need during the festive season, guided by the belief that even small gestures can have a significant impact.

“At ISUZU, it is important that we engage with communities to address societal challenges. This includes partnering with strategic partners in shared value initiatives,” says Lebogang Makoloi, Executive: Corporate Affairs at ISUZU MOTORS South Africa.

“The Buckets of Blessings initiative is about more than just providing grocery essentials—it’s about extending hope, dignity and compassion to those who need it most during the festive season. This work is driven by the incredible spirit of our employees, who willingly give their time to make a difference.”

Volvo SA survey reveals gender differences in seatbelt usage

The three-point seatbelt stands out as one of the most important innovations in automotive safety. Invented by Volvo in 1959, the Swedish automaker chose to share this life-saving device with the world instead of patenting it. As a result, the three-point seatbelt is estimated to have saved over one million lives since its introduction.
