Business goes where it is invited and stays where it is treated well.
This is the motto of Motus Hino Parow in the Western Cape, which recently scooped the national Hino Dealer of the Year award.
This highly sought-after recognition was awarded to Hino Parow for 2019 and was simply part of numerous accolades received for the year.
“Our management and staff are highly motivated, and most of them are seasoned members who take pride in their daily tasks,” says Dealer Principal Wouter Nel, who received the award on behalf of the dealership.
“This pride is the main reason for the numerous awards and accolades we have received over the years. Owing to our great team, the prestigious Dealer of the Year accolade was awarded to us for the first time in 2014 and, we are proud to say, we have recently been awarded the “Hino Wings” trophy for the for the second time for our performance in 2019.”
The Toyota Dealer Awards are based on a comprehensive set of metrics measuring each dealer throughout the preceding year and are focused on customer service, environmental protection, financial performance and vehicle sales.
“If anything, the global outbreak of COVID-19 has taught us to be resilient and agile – making us change the way we have been conducting business for years in favour of new ways,” said Toyota Motors South Africa President and CEO Andrew Kirby.
“It’s been encouraging to see how well everyone has adapted, with dealers across the country preparing their facilities to meet all the operational standards – as stipulated by government.”
Hino Parow had a relatively slow start at the beginning of 2019, but by quickly re-aligning, they soon realised they stood a good chance of walking away with the 2019 Dealer of the Year Award. The management team remained focused and motivated throughout the year.
Hino Parow achieved 104% of their Hino sales target, while on the parts side, they achieved 101% of the target. The dealership CE (Customer Experience) scores include:
Hino Parow also won the Hino Service Marketing Certificate for 2019, providing further proof of the importance of focusing on all departments in the running for Dealer of the Year.
South Africa's premium automotive sector has experienced unprecedented consolidation over the last two years, with multiple luxury brands restructuring their dealership networks in response to declining sales, economic pressures, and shifting consumer preferences.
Almost every dealership has them – listings that sit quietly in the background, gathering cobwebs. Despite looking good on paper, some used vehicles attract minimal buyer attention and quietly chip away potential revenue. But what if those slow movers weren’t dead ends, but missed opportunities waiting for the right tweak?
A renewed focus on customer care and the well-being of the employees, is high on the agenda of Jaco du Preez, newly appointed General Manager at Waterberg Toyota in Limpopo.
