Supertech Group, already pioneers in marketing BMW vehicles with lifestyle initiatives at its six dealerships, has launched a Golf Association that offers two value-add packages.

The packages are aimed at either introducing beginners to the game of golf, or providing experienced players with preferred rates or complimentary entry at select clubs across SA. Both packages are for six months and cost R3,999.
The Supertech Group Golf Association (SGGA) was founded in partnership with Supersport’s “Legends on the Links” host, Don Gammon, whose enthusiasm to teach golf to newcomers through the Gammon Golf Academy is only exceeded by his experience as an international golf pro.
“Golf can be a complicated and intimidating sport, but there can be no doubt that it provides an environment for networking, socialising, team building and competition like no other, says Gammon.

“The SGGA beginner programme will introduce new golfers to the game through fun-filled instruction and practice as well as friendly social competition in the beautiful facilities of the Durban Country Club and other premier courses around KwaZulu-Natal. The beginner programme includes one-on-one coaching, discounts on equipment, exclusive invites to tournaments and even complimentary clinics for children — all for R3,999.”
Working on the athletes’ motto of “the more I practise the luckier I get”, the training programme starts with 12-hour long beginner skills classes at the Durban Country Club’s Range before moving on to swing analyses and various challenges. The beginners’ course also has three sessions to teach rules and golfing etiquette, with quizzes and prizes, as well as complimentary entry into the monthly SGGA lucky draw.
The Founders package offers preferred green fee rates at a dozen top golf courses across South Africa, from Arabella in Western Cape to Zimbali on the Dolphin Coast.
Founder members also get complimentary entry into four corporate golf-day events and the 6 x 9-hole Callaway Golf Championships at Durban Country Club and 3 x 6-hole night golf at Beachwood golf course.
Founder members who have also discovered on the greens why Gary Player said, “Golf is a puzzle without an answer, I’ve played the game for 50 years and I still haven’t the slightest idea of how to play”, will however appreciate the Gammon Golf team’s private training sessions most.
