Toyota expands its Vitz range with the addition of the new X-Cite variant added to the line-up as well as a special offer on the Vitz 1.0 MT making it South Africa’s most affordable new car.
What’s new?
The Vitz X-Cite offers South African buyers the option of an affordable, yet stylish and attractive model, Toyota claims. Featuring orange trim throughout, the X-Cite is more likely to appeal to the bold and the daring.
Exterior:
The X-Cite range is only available in manual transmissions and offered in five paint colours, including Mystic Pearl White, Urban Silver, Dusk Grey, Jet Blue and Shadow Black Pearl.
From the outside, orange hues are expertly placed on various focal points, including the front and back ends as well as on the side. Up front, the orange accents serve as a garnish for the lower grille on either side.
On the side, the mirrors are wrapped in black, grey and orange decorative detail. The same colour palette is further replicated with the distinctive X-cite badging and the flash of orange on the protective black side moulding. At the back is a bold, bright rear spoiler.
Interior:
Once inside, touches of orange do great justice in balancing the predominantly black-hued interior. In the cockpit, it is the air-vent cowls and the gear frame bracket that sport the orange tone.
The X-Cite comes with an audio system that features Bluetooth-, Aux- and USB-connectivity options. The XR X-Cite MT boasts a four-speaker sound system as part of the integrated touchscreen infotainment system, featuring Bluetooth and USB functionality.
The latter also has Apple Carplay and Android Auto incorporated to allow users connection to their smart devices via the vehicle’s infotainment system.
Engine:
The 1-litre petrol engine will animate the Vitz X-Cite, courtesy of the 49 kW three-cylinder engine’s ability to harness its 89 Nm.
Prices:
Vitz 1.0 5MT (R169 899*), Vitz 1.0 XR 5MT (R199 900.00*), Vitz 1.0 XR AMT (R214 900*), Toyota Vitz 1.0 5MT X-Cite (R189 900) and the Vitz 1.0 XR X-Cite 5MT (R219 900).
