Toyota has added the Corolla Cross GR-S to its local line-up, a version that introduces sport-focused styling and adjustments to the driving experience. The Corolla Cross GR-S takes the established strengths of the Corolla Cross and adds styling, interior details, and suspension changes that set it apart from the rest of the line-up.
What is new?
Compared with the standard Corolla Cross models, the GR-S features unique exterior design elements, GR-branded interior finishes, paddle shifters on the petrol variant, aluminium sports pedals, and suspension tuning aimed at sharper handling. These changes give it a distinct identity within the range.
Exterior:
The GR-S is marked out by a black mesh grille, LED headlamps with sequential indicators, and a skid plate at the front. Along the sides, it carries new 18-inch six-spoke alloy wheels and refined mouldings, while the rear adds distinctive lighting, a blacked-out badge, and a sculpted skid plate. Buyers can choose from three bi-tone colour options: Glacier White, Chromium Silver, and Arizona Red, each paired with a black roof.

Interior:
The cabin is fitted with black leather upholstery with red stitching, GR logos, and red seatbelts. Aluminium sports pedals and a piano black centre console with red accents continue the theme. Technology includes a 10.1-inch display audio system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 360° Panoramic View Monitor, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a power back door with kick sensor.
Engine and performance:
The GR-S uses the same 1.8-litre petrol and hybrid options as the rest of the range with the Toyota Corolla Cross GR-S engine producing 103 kW and 172 Nm, paired with a CVT gearbox. The hybrid version uses the same 1.8‑litre engine combined with an electric motor, delivering a system output of 90 kW.
Another difference is the suspension tuning, which improves handling and road feedback. Paddle shifters are added to the petrol version for more driver control. Efficiency remains a focus, keeping running costs in check while offering a more responsive drive.

Prices:
The Corolla Cross range is priced as follows: 1.8 Xi (R420 700), 1.8 XS (R458,400), 1.8 XR (R508 200), 1.8 XS HEV (R501 100), 1.8 XR HEV (R552 400), 1.8 GR-S (R527 000), and 1.8 GR-S HEV (R569 700).
