The first shipment of 2026 Nissan X-Trail SUVs is en route to SA

The new X-Trail will arrive in South African showrooms in August, making South Africa one of the first countries, after Europe, to receive the upgraded new model.

26 Xtrail1

This 2026 model is based on the fourth-generation X-Trail, continuing the X-Trail’s success as one of the best-selling SUVs in the world, with over 8 million units sold since the introduction of the first generation in 2001.

The new model features a more modern design, with striking alloy wheels of up to 19 inches, additional chrome detailing, roof rails on higher-spec models and LED lights all-round.

Perhaps more importantly, the new X-Trail features a significantly improved interior and a suite of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), including, on higher-specification models, the newest generation of Nissan’s ProPILOT self-driving system.

The new model is the first of a series of new products planned for the South African and African markets. This is part of Nissan’s renewed plans to strengthen its position in South Africa and, in partnership with its network of over 100 dealers, to grow its presence even further.

On its introduction, the new Nissan X-Trail will become the company’s SUV flagship until the arrival of the new Nissan Patrol, also approved for local introduction. It will be offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations, alongside the highly popular Nissan Magnite and the Nissan Navara.

Customers interested in the new 2026 Nissan X-Trail are encouraged to contact their nearest Nissan dealer to register their interest and test-drive the new, modern, powerful and luxurious SUV when it arrives on showroom floors.
