Citroën is aiming for a bigger piece of the market-share cake with its new ranges launched locally.
The latest new Frenchman to put tyre to the tar here, is the new Citroën C3 Aircross SUV. This C3 Aircross follows the C3 as the second model range for the local market.
What is it?
Offering bold SUV versatility with muscular design and a class-leading drivetrain, the C3 Aircross aims to represent value in the segment and will be available in three specification levels with the ability and space to carry up to seven people.
Interior:
Unmistakably Citroën, the new C3 Aircross SUV is a tough and distinctive SUV available in five-seat configuration as standard with the option of a seven-seat version.
Up front, the instrument panel features a unique soft-touch grain across the middle. The New C3 Aircross SUV comes with a seven-inch TFT (colour thin-film transistor) cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen, of the largest in this class. It sits centrally and provides access to key infotainment and connected services, including mirroring capability for access to apps using Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto.
Standard safety specifications include front airbags, ABS, EBD and an electronic stability program on the turbocharged versions, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, hill-hold assist, rearview camera and park distance control.
Exterior:
The new C3 Aircross is a 4.32-metre-long family B-SUV with a sharp, expressive design. It features 17” alloys, an assertive front face with a high bonnet, wide track width, Citroën Y-shaped lighting signature and double grille with a lower skid plate to deal with varying road conditions.
It boasts 200 mm ground clearance, muscular wheel arches with large wheels and tyres, and protective cladding. There are four colour options and six eye-catching dual-tone roof combinations to choose from. Both metallic paint and the dual-tone roof option are included in the recommended retail price of all Citroën models.
Engine:
Both C3 Aircross MAX and MAX7 are powered by Citroën’s 1.2-litre turbocharged PureTech three-cylinder petrol engine delivering 81 kW and 205 Nm mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Price:
C3 Aircross MAX 1.2T 6AT (R344 900) and the C3 Aircross MAX 1.2T 6AT 7-seater (R354 900). An entry-level model into the range, the PLUS 1.2 61 kW with a 5-speed manual transmission and the normally aspirated version of the engine will be available in the fourth quarter of the year.
