What’s new?
Exterior:
The exterior design of the Suzuki Fronx shares most of its design with other models, including the Grand Vitara. In the front, it has dual-layer front lights and a new grille that is uniquely styled to make it noticeably different to the Gand Vitara. The flared wheel arches give it a more aggressive appearance on the road.
The Fronx sits on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, and all models have colour-matched side mirrors with built-in indicators. The GLX versions have chrome-plated trims across the windows. Additionally, all models have silver front, side and rear skid-plate garnishes as a homage to the Suzuki line-up.
Interior:
When it comes to comfort, the Fronx claims to be very quiet, with noise, vibration and harshness taken care of with a special damping system. The Fronx range is specced with a leather-clad multi-function steering with buttons controlling the audio as well as cruise control, among other things.
The technology in the Fronx is not in short supply. The Fronx has a head-up display function, wireless charging as well as a keyless entry with push-start function.
The GLX also benefits from a larger infotainment system. The GL model has a centrally mounted 7” infotainment system that also displays images from the reverse camera. On the GLX, the infotainment system is sized up to 9”, and the image from the reverse camera is replaced by a 360-degree composite video image from the front-, side- and rear-mounted cameras.
Performance:
The Suzuki Fronx is powered by a 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine that has an output of 77 kW and 183 Nm of torque. Both GL and GLX specifications have this engine, which is paired to the 5-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic box.
Model Range & Pricing:
1.5 GL 5-speed manual (R279 900), 1.5 GL 4-speed automatic (R299 900), 1.5 GLX 5-speed manual (R315 900) and the 1.5 GLX 4-speed automatic (R335 900). The Suzuki Fronx is available at local Suzuki dealers.
