Peugeot South Africa has added the new Partner to its local line-up, bringing a compact light commercial van aimed at small businesses, courier operators and delivery fleets. Two body sizes are available, both powered by a single diesel engine and priced under R510 000.
Load capacity and access:
The Partner comes in two wheelbases. The Short Wheelbase (SWB) is new to South Africa and offers a load length of 1 817mm. The Long Wheelbase (LWB) extends this to 2 167mm and, with the Multiflex bench seat folded, provides up to 4.4m³ of load volume. The LWB model carries a payload of up to 1 000kg.
Both variants feature dual sliding side doors and 180-degree rear doors, making loading and unloading straightforward in tight spaces.
Interior:
The cab is laid out as a practical workspace. A 10-inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver, paired with a 10-inch HD touchscreen. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi mirroring, Bluetooth, AM/FM/DAB radio, dual USB ports and steering wheel controls. Manual air conditioning, one-touch electric front windows, an electric parking brake, adjustable seating and overhead storage are all fitted as standard.
Safety equipment includes Emergency Braking Assistance, Electronic Stability Programme, cruise control with speed limiter, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and driver and passenger airbags. Automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers are also included.
Engine:
A 1.6-litre HDi diesel engine is fitted across the range, producing 68kW and 230Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Claimed fuel consumption is 5.1L/100km.
