JAC Motors decided to add a petrol engine derivative to its local bakkie line-up in the form of the T6 2.0L VVT double cab 4x2 version.
The T6 is JAC Motors' sixth generation international pick-up design. It was launched as the best competitive offering in the Chinese market in 2015, with the lowest sticker price, best performance, biggest payload and impressive standard features.
“The market feedback is clear. Customers, especially big transport operators, want petrol engine derivatives in their fleets. With the limited offer of one-tonne petrol engine workhorses in the local market, we have decided to add a petrol engine derivative to our local T6 range,” says Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa.
“The T6 is a rugged all-rounder and popular choice with customers who want the best value-for-money double-cab on the market. The new T6 2.0L Petrol is exceptionally well priced at just over R320 000 and offers unique benefits such as fuel efficiency and low maintenance,” says Göbel.
The 1 997cc VVT 4-cylinder petrol engine develops 108 kW and 190 Nm and has a 5-speed manual transmission.
JAC claims the T6 Petrol's fuel consumption is around 10 L/100 km (combined cycle), the 76-litre tank will give you a range of approximately 800 kilometres. The T6's ground clearance is 198 mm.
It supports a payload of 900 kg and a maximum Towing Mass (Braked) of 2 000 kg. It offers the biggest cargo space in its class, allowing ample room for cargo and tools. The double-skinned load box measures 1 520 mm × 1 520 mm × 470 mm and is sprayed with an anti-scratch and corrosion-resistant truck bed liner.
T6 2.0L VVT 4x2 Lux (R324 900) and the T6 1.9L TDI 4x2 Comfort (R359 900).
The bakkie war has intensified with the local launch of Mitsubishi’s next-generation Triton, an evolution in the iconic bakkie’s 46-year legacy.
JAC Motors added ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) to its X200 2.8L TDI 1.5-tonne single-cab, enhancing safety for both the crew and cargo. This latest upgrade complements the ABS-equipped X200 1.3-tonne double-cab targeted at organisations with labour-intensive operations.
Omoda South Africa has revealed a new entry-level version of the C5, making the premium crossover line-up even more attainable.
