The only sedan in the Volkswagen model range, the new Polo Sedan, soldiers on in new livery.
The new model lands with the choice of three derivatives, all fitted with VW’s 1.6 litre petrol engine.
According to VW, the Polo sedan, which is manufactured in Pune, India, has sold 44 267 units in the local market since its launch in 2011.
The new Polo sedan now measures 4 561 mm in length, 1 752 mm in width and 1 507 mm in height. It comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, a chrome grille and a chrome package with chrome window strips and chrome door handles. The Life-derivative has 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the new model has a two-tone interior and upholstery with ambient lighting, a multi-function steering wheel and 521 litres of boot space. The Life model has Climatronic air conditioning, a rear-view camera and Hill Start Assist (on the Tiptronic Life model).
The new Polo Sedan also has up to six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), multi-collision braking system, tyre pressure monitoring and rear-fitted Park Distance Control.
There are three models – the Polo Sedan, Polo Sedan Life and the Polo Sedan Life Tiptronic.
In addition to the standard features in the entry-level derivative, the Polo Sedan Life also comes standard with keyless entry and start, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless mobile charging, wireless App-Connect, front fog lamps and cornering lights, a chrome package and 16-inch Scimitar alloy wheels.
The new Polo Sedan model range is offered with the four-cylinder MPI petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. The engine delivers 81 kW and 152 Nm.
