There’s a lot of anticipation around the all-new Mazda CX-5 following its global reveal.
South African interest is especially high, and Deolinda Da Costa, Mazda Southern Africa’s Head of Marketing and Communications, has elaborated on what local customers can expect – and why the current CX-5 remains a compelling choice in the interim.
Deolinda emphasises: “The next-generation CX-5 marks a significant milestone for Mazda globally. While we look forward to introducing it locally, we’re equally committed to delivering outstanding value and features with our current line-up.” The mild-hybrid models will potentially be introduced to SA later than the initial launch.
The all-new Mazda CX-5 is expected to arrive in South Africa in the second half of 2026, although final launch dates are pending. When it debuts, South African customers can expect a 2.5L petrol engine variant. While mild-hybrid models will be available in other markets, Mazda Southern Africa has opted for a robust, efficient powertrain that aligns with local driving preferences and conditions.
