The new, updated Nissan Magnite made its debut in South Africa shortly after its global launch held in India last month.
First introduced to the world in 2020, the Nissan Magnite has quickly found its niche with more than 150 000 vehicles being sold across the globe with 26 000 units being sold in South Africa since June 2021.
What is it?
The small Crossover or compact SUV is a vital part of Nissan’s local plans with different variants for a broad appeal.
Exterior and interior:
The Magnite boasts a robust exterior styling complemented by LED lights front and rear, alloy wheels and roof rails.
The new Magnite retains its looks and robust exterior styling, adding a configurable TFT driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. Life on board is also enhanced with adjustable four colour ambient lighting.
Other new features (model specific) include the innovative remote engine start, a walkaway lock and approach unlock function, cooled glove box storage and an on-board air ioniser, which is ideal for motorists and passengers with allergies or respiratory conditions.
Safety:
The updated Magnite features six airbags across all variants, and the bodyshell’s integrity is reinforced with the use of reinforced steel. An auto-dim rear view mirror is available.
Parking is made safe with Around View Monitor providing a bird’s eye view of the car from four cameras relieving all the stress from parking in tight spaces. Specification levels are model specific.
Engine:
The Magnite is powered by two 1-litre engines with one turbocharged paired by either a manual or automated manual (AMT) or continuously variable transmission.
The non-turbo version delivers 56 kW or 96 Nm with the turbo model increasing power to 74 kW and 152 Nm.
