New Hyundai Alcazar focus on family comfort

Looking for the perfect family vehicle that does not compromise on style or your budget? Say hello to the all-new Hyundai Alcazar – designed with South African families in mind, says the Korean manufacturer.

The Hyundai Alcazar is not just stepping in for the Grand Creta – it is a major upgrade. For one, it comes with a lower starting price than the model it replaces, making premium family travel more accessible to South Africans,” says Stanley Anderson, Sales and Operations Director at Hyundai Automotive South Africa.

What is it?

The Hyundai Alcazar joins the growing line-up of SUVs, complementing the Hyundai Creta while offering the one thing that big families need – more space. To be precise, the Hyundai Alcazar gives buyers seven seats. The new model bridges the gap between the compact Hyundai Creta and the premium Hyundai Tucson.

Exterior:

Its design features distinctive H-style LED daytime running lights connected by a centre light bar – proving that family-focused SUVs do not have to be boring. The same goes for the bold grille and 18-inch diamond-cut wheels.

There is a silver tone, lower grille and rear faux bash plate, the rear LED tail lamps and light bar that mirror the front design and the widened fenders with their dark inserts that frame the wheels.

The Alcazar is longer and wider than the seven-seater Grand Creta and boasts a ground clearance of 200mm.

Engine:

Buyers can choose between a 2.0-litre petrol engine (117kW & 191Nm) or a 1.5-litre turbodiesel (85kW & 250Nm) – both paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Interior:

The spacious three-row seating means all occupants get their own comfortable spot.

Since this is a family SUV, the second row has fold-out tables (Elite only), and all three rows get USB charging. For some added practicality, both rear rows fold completely flat.

The driver-focused cockpit features a high-resolution dual-screen display that keeps you connected through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Convenient touches like wireless charging and easy-to-use climate and audio controls with physical buttons mean the driver can keep his/her eyes on the road.

The Elite model adds a panoramic sunroof, customisable LED mood lighting for evening drives and ventilated front seats.

It also comes standard with six airbags, ISOFIX anchors for child seats (top and bottom), and a comprehensive suite of electronic safety systems, including stability control and hill assist features.

The Elite model takes safety even further with features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Prices:

2.0 MPI Executive AT (R499 900), 1.5 CRDI Executive AT (R599 900) and the 1.5 CRDI Elite AT (R669 900).
