What is it?
The new A5 sedan will replace the A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback and in a sense also the A4 sedan. It’s a five-door lift-back with a fastback roofline.
Exterior:
The exterior of the new Audi A5 Sedan is defined by clean lines and large proportions with a long wheelbase, large wheels and a low stance.
With a length of 4 829mm and a 1 444mm height, the A5 Sedan delivers generous interior space for passengers in both rows. The boot offers 445 litres of capacity.
Viewed from the side, the sporty looking cabin stretches to the rear, flowing into a gently sloping window and finishing at a short, tailgate with a spoiler lip with as coupé-like silhouette.
At the front, a wider and flatter Single frame grille with a three-dimensional honeycomb structure is framed by slim headlights.
Inside:
Inside the centrepiece is Audi’s new MMI panoramic display, also known as the “Digital Stage”, comprising a curved 14.5-inch central touchscreen and an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus.
The new A5 has a configurable head-up display that has been further developed compared to its predecessor. For the first time, drivers now have the option of controlling vehicle and infotainment functions via the head-up display. The new integrated driver assistance display in the head-up display provides a 3D visualisation of the driver assistance view. For example, if the system detects other cars, cyclists, pedestrians, buses or trucks, these are displayed in the head-up display.
Audi is also expanding the existing self-learning voice assistant to incorporate Chat GPT. Passengers can activate the assistant as usual with "Hey Audi" or via the push-to-talk button on the steering wheel to ask their questions.
Engines:
The new Audi A5 Sedan is powered by two 2.0 TFSI engines: One with 146kW and 340Nm, paired with front-wheel drive and the other 200kW and 400Nm, available with Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive. Both engines are coupled to a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission.
Prices:
A5 Sedan TFSI 146 kW S line (R1 123 000), A5 Sedan TFSI 146 kW Black Edition (R1 166 800), A5 Sedan TFSI 200 kW quattro S line (R1 238 000) and the A5 Sedan TFSI 200 kW quattro Black Edition (R1 281 800).
