For its 25th anniversary celebration of the Mercedes-Benz Actros in South Africa and to recognise the significant role loyal customers played in the success of the product locally, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will be launching a limited number of 25th Limited Edition Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks to the market.
These special units are offered across three model variants, namely the Mercedes-Benz Actros 2652LS/33 RE, the Mercedes-Benz Actros 2654LS/33 RE and the Mercedes-Benz Actros 2663LS/33 Euro 5.
What’s New?
What sets the 25th Limited Edition trucks apart from the normal model variants is the inclusion of traditional flagship equipment, previously exclusive to the flagship model the Mercedes-Benz Actros 2663LS/33, including aesthetics, driver comfort and safety features.
Exterior:
Exteriorly, the 25th Limited Edition trucks boast a distinctive coat of high-quality Mercedes-Benz silver grey paint, providing a premium finish that increases the vehicle's aesthetic appeal.
Adding a touch of sophistication to the overall design and to complete the premium look, the 25th Limited Edition trucks also feature a backlit Mercedes illuminating star and includes the Interior Chrome package.
Interior:
To improve the driver's experience, the seating comfort was taken to new heights by replacing the standard Fold-Up, Co Fold-Up Passenger's Seat with a Comfort Passenger's Suspension Seat featuring ergonomically favourable sitting posture armrests.
In addition, the 12.7 cm (Thin Film Transistor) TFT display instrument cluster was replaced with the stunning 12.3-inch Interactive Multimedia Cockpit. This multi-touch display brings driving and vehicle information to drivers’ fingertips in a clear, graphic format, enabling them to stay connected and effortlessly in control.
Safety:
Safety is paramount to Mercedes-Benz Trucks, and to ensure greater passenger safety, the 25th Limited Edition trucks are equipped with a seat occupancy detection sensor on the co-driver's side. For long-haul journeys, such as the route between Cape Town and Johannesburg, where an ideal sleeping climate is essential, the units are equipped with the Premium Comfort Mattress.
Conclusion:
Commenting on the launch of the 25th Limited Edition trucks, Maretha Gerber, Vice President: Sales & Marketing Daimler Truck Southern Africa, said: “The Mercedes-Benz Actros has been our flagship truck for the past 25 years and concluding its silver jubilee with the launch of the 25th Limited Edition trucks is truly special for us.

While the past laid a solid foundation for our brand, we are excited about the future as we are moving further into sustainable transport solutions to redefine the new standard of road freight transport.”
