What is it?
The company, part of the global SAIC automotive group, recently announced the introduction of the LDV T60 double cab pick-up range. This will be the first model in its line-up, and it has already started shipping vehicles to dealers prior to its launch in May.
LDV’s D90 SUV will roam our roads soon.
The range:
T60 Pick-up:
The T60 Pick-up range displays a host of features like a Reversing Camera, 10.25” Touch-Screen Entertainment System, six Airbags, TPMS, Apple CarPlay®, Cruise Control and LED Daytime Running Lights.
Models in the T60 range include the T60 Max 4-wheel drive with a 2-litre Bi-turbo diesel engine generating 160 kW and 500 Nm and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The T60 Pro and T60 Elite have a 2-litre turbo diesel engine with 120 kW and 375 Nm. The Pro is a 4x4 while the Elite offers a 4x2 drive system. Transmission options include a 6-speed auto or 6-speed manual.
D90 SUV:
The second model that is expected on local soil is the D90 SUV. This seven-seater SUV is another best-seller for the LDV brand in Australia with a choice between 4x4 and 4x2.
For the South African market, the D90 will be equipped with a 160 kW Bi-turbo diesel engine connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The D90 also boasts the latest version of the manufacturer’s infotainment technology, which includes multi-zone climate control, a JBL-tuned sound system and as many as three differential locks for 4x4 models.
G90 MPV:
Another model on the menu for South Africa is the G90 MPV. This model range offers a new level of luxury in the MPV segment. This includes, depending on the model chosen, independently adjustable rear seats, an oversized panoramic sunroof, a multi-screen infotainment system that stretches across the breadth of the front dashboard and next-generation assisted driving technology. The G90 MPV will arrive in South Africa with the choice of seven or eight seats.
G10+ Delivery Van:
This medium-sized panel van is yet another top-seller in Australia, thanks to its 5.2 m3 of securable cargo space, its 2-litre diesel engine, its automatic transmission and dual sliding doors.
It is designed exclusively as a panel van with a 1-tonne weight carrying capacity, it still has a smooth-shifting automatic transmission, a powerful diesel engine, smartphone connectivity and a reverse camera for ease of operation.
Conclusion:
LDV South Africa will offer all these models with a full 5-year / 200 000 km factory warranty and a service plan for five years / 100 000 km.
