Honda Motor Southern Africa has refreshed the Honda HR-V, and the new model line-up has been streamlined to a single derivative, called the Elegance.
What is it?
The Honda HR-V is a compact SUV Coupe now with refreshed exterior styling and interior revisions, which offer a more premium feel at a more competitive price between that of the two outgoing models.
Exterior:
The front fascia now features a redesigned, body-coloured grille, while at the back a new full-LED taillight strip and high-gloss lower bumper garnish can be seen.
Complementing these changes are new dual-tone 18-inch wheels with five colours now on offer: two Pearlescent and three Metallic – Crystal Black Pearlescent, Opal White Pearlescent, Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic and Ignite Red Metallic.
Interior:
The interior of the Elegance derivative features eco-friendly leather seats designed to provide greater comfort on long journeys. The redesigned centre console improves practicality and convenience, and it’s now equipped with two USB ports (Type A and Type C). Additionally, a 15W Wireless Smartphone Charger is now a standard feature on the refreshed HR-V. Like the derivatives it replaces, the Elegance features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, now with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
Features:
The Elegance derivative delivers the best of both the previous Comfort and Executive variants — at an attractive price point, claims Honda. Customers will now enjoy premium features that were previously exclusive to higher trims, including Honda’s innovative driver assistance system, Honda SENSING®.
Standard features include Auto High Beam LED Headlights, a 6-Speaker Sound System, Smart Keyless Entry, Adaptive Cruise Control and 6 SRS Airbags. The Honda SENSING® Suite of Safety Features include Lane-Keeping Assist, Emergency Collision Mitigation Braking and Road Departure Mitigation.
Price:
The Honda HR-V costs R539 900 and comes with a 5-year / 200 000km warranty, a 4-year / 60 000km service plan, and 3 years of AA roadside assistance.
