GWM recently unveiled new vehicles at its 2025 Dealer Conference and awards, with the all-new GWM P300 bakkie, the new GWM H6 GT PHEV, and the Tank 300 Diesel variant making their local debuts.
What is new?
GWM P300 bakkie:
The updated P300 now features a new generation 2.4L Turbo Diesel engine delivering 135kW and 480Nm of torque compared to the outgoing 2-litre powertrain’s 120kW and 400Nm torque. Coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission, it also boasts a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
From the outside, there are a distinctive new grille, redesigned bumpers and sleek LED Headlights.
Tank 300 Diesel:
GWM’s rugged Tank line-up received a powerful new addition in the form of the Tank 300 Diesel. Designed to cater to South Africa’s strong preference for diesel-powered 4x4s, it is equipped with the same 2.4L Turbo Diesel engine as the P300.
The Tank 300 Diesel has a braked towing capacity of 3 000 kg and a suite of off-road driving modes, which will find favour with adventure enthusiasts and overlanders alike.
Haval H6 GT PHEV:
GWM has unveiled its first plug-in hybrid for South Africa, the Haval H6 GT PHEV. With a class-leading electric range of up to 180km on a single charge, this model is a game-changer for eco-conscious drivers.
Equipped with a hybrid powertrain producing 342kW and 762Nm of torque, the H6 GT PHEV accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Its advanced fast-charging capabilities allow it to recharge from 30% to 80% in just 26 minutes.
GWM’s investment in future mobility extends far beyond hybrids. The company has already committed over R32 billion to R&D globally in emerging technologies, including hydrogen propulsion, solidifying its position as a pioneer in the automotive industry.
A new comprehensive and transferable 7-year / 200 000km warranty across the entire range is also introduced.
