GWM has added the HAVAL H6 PHEV to its South African line-up, a plug-in hybrid SUV that combines electric commuting capability with long-distance range and all-wheel-drive performance.
What is it?
The H6 PHEV is a plug-in hybrid SUV positioned within the existing H6 range. It retains the family-focused practicality of the H6 while introducing electrified performance and advanced driver assistance features as well as Hi4 all drive technology.
Exterior:
The design follows the established H6 look with a patterned grille, slim headlamps, and LED daytime running lights. The styling balances sporty appeal with everyday usability, maintaining the bold SUV presence familiar to the range.



Interior:
The cabin features GWM’s Coffee OS infotainment system with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a nine-speaker audio system are standard. Comfort equipment includes heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and rear seats with armrest and cup holders.

Engine:
The Hi-4 hybrid drivetrain pairs a 1500 turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. Outputs vary by derivative:
The system manages torque distribution for traction and efficiency. Electric-only range is up to 106km, while combined range exceeds 1 000km.
