What is it?
Representing a fresh interpretation of the modern family vehicle, the Basalt introduces a distinctive SUV-Coupé offering to the local B-segment, Citroën claims.
The Basalt forms part of Citroën’s global C-CUBED programme and reinforces the brand’s commitment to delivering vehicles that are simple, comfortable, sustainable and daring, all values that remain central to Citroën's global product strategy, the French automaker states.
Positioned between a traditional hatchback and an SUV, the Basalt has been developed for customers seeking the space and presence of an SUV, combined with the efficiency, design appeal and accessibility of a compact passenger vehicle.
The model is positioned to appeal to young professionals and growing families seeking a more expressive alternative to conventional offerings, while remaining accessible to own and operate.
Key features include:
A distinctive SUV-Coupé silhouette, a first for Citroën in the South African market
Generous interior space with a focus on rear-seat comfort for the segment
Elevated ground clearance suited to diverse South African driving conditions
Integration of Citroën’s Advanced Comfort programme
Contemporary infotainment and connectivity features
Comprehensive safety specification
The Basalt will complement the recently updated Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross range.
More information, including detailed specifications and pricing, will be made available closer to the official launch.
