The Audi RS division is quite well known for being the performance segment of the Audi range.
The Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback will be receiving a power boost of 22 kW and 50 Nm of torque, which will make it even quicker than the standard model and “Performance” to the names.
What’s new?
Exterior:
There are 16 different exterior colours available on the RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback Performance and three new exterior colours: metallic and matte Ascari Blue and matte Dew Silver. The performance models also stand out with standard RS exterior components in matte grey, which make it a lot more aggressive like the exterior mirrors, front splitter and many more.
The RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback Performance also sit on lighter wheels. The standard 22-inch wheel is 5kg lighter. It comes in a matte titanium grey, diamond finish and is also available in burnished glossy metallic black, matte black or matte neodymium gold.
Interior:
The RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback Performance now include a new RS design package that comes in blue, which means the floor mats, side of the centre console and the selector lever cuff have blue contrast stitching. The steering wheel is in Alcantara black and features contrast stitching in Mercato blue. The RS design package is available in grey, red and blue.
The 12.3-inch driver display now sports a new feature that changes the r/min display from green to yellow to red through a blinking shift indicator in manual transmission mode.
Performance:
The RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback Performance are powered by the potent 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo TFSI engine that delivers a maximum output of 463 kW and a whopping 850 Nm of torque. This means it can accelerate from 0 - 100km/h in 3.4 seconds which is 0.2 seconds faster than the previous RS 6/7 versions.
The wheel design aids brake cooling and is inspired by motorsport. The new high-performance Continental “Sport Contact” tyres offer better grip on dry and wet roads. This reduces understeer when cornering at speed, Audi claims.
Pricing:
Audi RS 6 Avant Performance (R2 332 700) and the Audi RS 7 Sportback Performance (R2 444 500) are now available.
