JHB892 - Passenger Vehicle Dealership Assistant Accountant
Our client, a reputable Passenger Vehicle Dealership, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, dealership experience, and be comfortable handling a variety of financial tasks in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Remuneration: R20 000.00 – R25 000.00 dependent on experience
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and handle cashbook processing
- Capture and reconcile debtors and creditors
- Assist in preparing and processing month-end journals
- Ensure all vehicle and parts transactions are accurately captured
- Monitor and manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Support the Accountant in auditing and compliance tasks
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts
- Assist in VAT, PAYE, and other statutory return preparations
- Liaise with relevant departments to resolve queries timeously
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ (compulsory) accounting, assistant accountant experience in a dealership environment
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting principles and processes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Experience on Evolve Dealer Management System will be an added advantage
- Automotive Industry experience Essential!!
