JHB889 - Automotive Debtors Clerk - Gauteng, West Rand

A leading luxury passenger vehicle dealership in the West Rand is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Debtors Clerk to join its finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the dealership's debtors function, ensuring accurate allocation of payments, account reconciliations, collections, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and corporate clients.
Only applicants with motor dealership experience and proven Kerridge/CDK Drive experience will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the debtors ledger
- Process and allocate customer payments accurately
- Reconcile customer and fleet accounts
- Follow up on outstanding accounts and overdue payments
- Prepare and distribute customer statements
- Investigate and resolve account queries and discrepancies
- Process journal entries, credit notes, and account adjustments
- Reconcile bank deposits against debtor accounts
- Maintain accurate debtor records on Kerridge/CDK Drive
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and reporting
- Liaise with customers, sales teams, service departments, and management regarding account matters
- Ensure compliance with dealership financial controls and company policies
- Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting documentation when required
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Debtors experience in an automotive dealership essential
- Relevant finance or bookkeeping qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Debtors Clerk within a franchised motor dealership
- Essential: Proven experience working on Kerridge/CDK Drive
- Strong understanding of debtors, reconciliations, collections, and account management
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Motor Industry experience Essential!
