JHB872 - Pre-Owned Car Sales Manager
Our client a well-established passenger vehicle dealership is seeking an experienced and driven Pre-Owned Car Sales Manager to lead its used vehicle sales department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the sales team, driving profitability, overseeing stock management, and ensuring exceptional customer service while achieving dealership sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Department
- Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team to achieve sales targets
- Drive departmental profitability and maximise gross profit
- Manage used vehicle stock, pricing, ageing, and vehicle sourcing
- Monitor sales performance and prepare regular management reports
- Ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales process
- Work closely with the F&I department to maximise finance and insurance opportunities
- Ensure all dealership policies and manufacturer standards are followed
- Assist with resolving customer queries and handling escalated complaints
- Recruit, coach, and mentor sales staff where required
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to remain competitive
- Maintain accurate sales records and departmental administration
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Pre-Owned Car Sales Manager within a franchised passenger vehicle dealership
- Proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience in used vehicle stock management and vehicle sourcing
- Sound knowledge of vehicle finance, F&I processes, and dealership operations
- Computer literate with experience using a dealer management system
- Valid driver's licence
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Stable employment record with contactable references
