JHB 861 - Technical Support Administrator - OEM

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced Technical Support Administrator to join the team. You will be responsible for providing professional technical support to the dealer network and after-sales operations, ensuring the effective diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of vehicle-related technical concerns.
The role involves conducting in-depth fault investigations both remotely and on-site, compiling comprehensive technical reports on vehicle failures, and supporting dealers with technical guidance and diagnostic expertise. The incumbent will monitor and manage technical assistance processes, analyse warranty-related components, prepare regular performance and trend reports, and contribute to the continuous improvement of product quality, dealer capability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Quality
- To carry out fault diagnosis and technical evaluations to all dealer vehicles as & when required
- Ensure all administration is complete, up-to-date and filed for future reference
- Prepare technical reports where required
- On site Dealer repairs – Assist dealers with repairs to meet required deadline
- Prepare the centre for all training requirements
- Attend training seminars regularly Local & International to meet company standards
- Compile reports on all incoming technical queries from dealers and customers
- Provide professional technical advice and assistance where required to customer service
- Analyse trends of failures and create process to eliminate such trends on failures and skill level of technicians at dealers
- Upskill technicians with on the job training when assisting dealers with diagnosis
- Ensure all service material is kept up to date and is available in DCS to dealers
- Liaise with relevant department at head office to ensure service material for new vehicle launch is available in DCS
- Assist with practical training and exam where required
- Assist district controllers with diagnosis at dealer and where required
- Attend training (local and international) when required
- Proactively identify trends related to technical and quality concerns
- Proactively implement counter measures for all technical and quality concerns
- Drive product quality improvement to improve customer experience and promote creation of lifetime customers
Cost reduction
- Ensure diagnosis leads to most effective & accurate repair
- Ensure most cost-effective manner is used in assisting dealers off site
- Proactively identify and resolve emerging quality issues in order to improve product quality and ensure effective control of warranty repair costs
Neatness
Monitor the service centre at dealers and at head office & ensure it is kept clean & tidy at all times

Requirements:
- Level 5
- To have served a full apprenticeship & completed a recognised trade test
- To have completed a full technological course of further education
- Knowledge of FTIR/TAR system and working knowledge of Manufacturer-specific diagnostic software
- Ability to compile, analyse and produce processes to improve operations
- Ability to compile, analyse and produce reports for processes implemented
- Progress reports to be submitted as per departmental standard weekly to Manager
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in the following: Microsoft (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
Special Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Willingness to travel at short notice when required
- From time to time may be expected to fly with 24 hours’ notice
