The Institute in Kloof, Durban, is a non-profit initiative dedicated to the development of manufacturing executives in Africa, and the master’s in business administration courses that focus on manufacturing have been developed in partnership with the Gordon Institute of Business Science, (GIBS).

These include Future Manufacturing, Green Manufacturing, Lean Operations Management, Lean Supply Chain management, and African Trade and Industrialisation.

Ntokozo Nxumalo, programme co-ordinator at TWIMS, said the first group of students have persevered through ongoing building on our campus, a global pandemic and a multitude of other challenges along the way to finish their qualifications.

“The TWIMS team are exceptionally proud of the class, and we cannot wait to see how they excel in their respective careers,” said Nxumalo.

TWIMS also announced its two free seats for citizens from neighbouring countries in Africa for each of the seven Executive Short Courses in 2021. The courses are between three and four days each and the savings on each course will range from R15,000 to R20,000 depending on the length of each course.

Nxumalo said the Executive Short Courses have a broad African application, and our African Short Course Scholarship Programme (ASCSP) will ensure that our courses are made more accessible to our African compatriots looking to improve their manufacturing management skills.

“Any African citizen presently filling a management position in a manufacturing or manufacturing support organisation outside of South Africa is eligible to apply for the ASCSP. This can be done through the link below,” Nxumalo advised.

He said applicants need to submit a short motivation letter and a brief CV to the TWIMS website. Applications will be adjudicated three weeks before the start of each course, and the two successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance immediately thereafter.
