TransUnion appoints new Sales Vice President

Global information and insights company, TransUnion South Africa, has announced the appointment of Marcia Mayaba (photo) as Sales Vice President, Auto Information Services.

In her new role, she will provide strategic leadership in business development for TransUnion’s Auto Information Solutions.

With over 24 years’ experience in the South African automotive industry, including roles in truck and car rental, leasing/fleet management, automotive retail and original equipment manufacturing, Marcia brings a wealth of expertise to TransUnion South Africa.

She has held various roles in her career, ranging from Operational to Executive Leadership with her highest achievement being appointed as the CEO of Barloworld Motor Retail in September 2020. This is where she made history as the first black female CEO in the South African Automotive Retail industry.

Marcia’s passion for advancing women in the automotive sector was highlighted during her tenure as Vice President of the National Automobile Dealers Association, where she spearheaded transformation initiatives.

"I'm excited to join TransUnion South Africa, contributing to its mission of extending financial inclusion," she says. "I look forward to bringing to bear my experience in leading strategic sales initiatives and building partnerships for the benefit of TransUnion’s clients as we work together to create innovative solutions that empower businesses and consumers."

Marcia will lead the sales team, driving the client proposition and servicing model within TransUnion’s auto vertical, as well as collaborating with product and analytics teams to develop innovative solutions that address clients’ risk management needs. Her strategic vision and industry knowledge will be instrumental in expanding market share, fostering partnerships and driving engagement.
