The move follows her two years leading FUSO Sales, where she worked to strengthen commercial performance and deepen ties with customers and dealers.
Mpho’s career with Daimler spans more than two decades. She has built her reputation on operational focus and close collaboration with both customers and internal teams. In her new role, she takes charge of the dedicated FUSO division, overseeing strategy, sales, marketing, customer experience, parts, after‑sales, and supply chain management. The aim is to keep the brand growing sustainably under the Daimler Truck Southern Africa umbrella.
Speaking about her appointment, Mpho said she is honoured to be entrusted with the role of Head of FUSO Trucks Southern Africa and grateful for the opportunity to lead a brand with such a strong legacy in both the local and cross‑border markets.
“Having worked closely with our customers and dealer network in my previous role, I look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to drive a customer‑first approach as we move forward. FUSO remains a key part of DTSA, and our commitment to our customers in Southern Africa remains unwavering,” she adds
Her appointment comes at a time of global change for the FUSO brand. Daimler Truck AG and Toyota Motor Corporation are integrating Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso under a new holding company, ARCHION Group. Locally, however, Daimler Truck Southern Africa has confirmed that operations, dealer networks, and after‑sales support remain unchanged.
Maretha Gerber, President and Group CEO of Daimler Truck Southern Africa, welcomed the appointment: “Mpho has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, deep commercial insight, and a clear commitment to our customers‑first in her role as Head of Marketing and most recently as Head of FUSO Sales. Her appointment ensures continuity and stability for the FUSO business in Southern Africa, while positioning the brand for sustained success under the DTSA umbrella.”
