Commenting on the partnership, Abey Kgotle, Executive Director (Human Resources & Corporate Affairs, Mercedes-Benz South Africa), says beyond their core business activities, they are committed to social responsibility making tangible contributions in their communities.

“The partnership with the Kolisi Foundation is more than just a collaboration; it is a promise to stand together, to empower, to inspire, and to mould a South Africa where every individual, especially youth, have the opportunity to thrive. This partnership underscores the company's commitment to fostering enduring, positive change within society.”

The Kolisi Foundation was founded in 2019 on the values of collaboration, learning through action, integrity and ubuntu. It has been instrumental in championing causes that resonate with its core focus areas of sport and education, addressing gender-based violence and contributing to food security. Since its inception, the Foundation has impacted close to 4 000 children yearly through its education and sports programmes and supports over 35 community kitchens with grocery parcels to change the narrative of food insecurity in underserved areas.

The partnership will leverage resources, expertise and networks to drive meaningful change at grassroots levels to youth, women and children located in the Eastern Cape.

Rachel Kolisi, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Kolisi Foundation says the Foundation is incredibly excited to embark on this journey with Mercedes-Benz South Africa. “The partnership will allow us to amplify our efforts and make an even greater impact on the lives of those who need it most. Today, we stand on the precipice of possibility, fuelled by a passion and shared vision to uplift, empower and inspire.”
