Mahindra launches Certified Pre-owned franchise

Mahindra South Africa has launched a new franchise concept for its South African dealer network.

Mahindra CPO Centurion branch

Called Mahindra Certified Pre-owned, it focuses on developing a strong used vehicle market and trusted brand for customers looking for a pre-owned Mahindra.

The first franchise was opened this week in Centurion, one of the brand’s largest dealerships. Next up are Mahindra Vaal, Eagle Mahindra, Mahindra Rustenburg, Mahindra Port Elizabeth and Mahindra East London.

“Our team has developed this new used vehicle offering in response to the ever-increasing demand for used Mahindra vehicles. We decided to create a process and brand that would not only ensure a greater supply of used Mahindra vehicles, but also give customers a higher level of confidence and peace of mind when making their purchase,” says Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa.

“In any situation where demand outstrips supply, there is upward pressure on vehicle prices, and it opens the door for vehicles of questionable quality to be sold at high prices. We believe this makes the introduction of Mahindra Certified Pre-owned a priority, and we look forward to working with our dealer network to introduce this innovation at more and more dealers in the coming months.”

The Certified Pre-owned concept includes a unique branded used vehicle floor and dedicated digital platform at mahindrapreowned.co.za.

Mahindra promises a 120-point check and ownership and kilometre verification for customers buying a used Mahindra from Mahindra Certified Pre-owned. The brand has also committed to adding a complimentary 12-month service plan and warranty on top of whatever the vehicle still has.

Lastly, Mahindra has confirmed that it has partnered with the Automobile Association to offer 12 months of roadside assistance to certified pre-owned Mahindra models sold under this banner.

The introduction of Mahindra Certified Pre-owned vehicles follows the introduction of a range of Mahindra Value Fit parts. Value Fit parts are aimed at owners of high-mileage Mahindra vehicles that are no longer covered by a mechanical warranty or service plan and will be offered at a discount to other Mahindra parts.
