South Africa’s vibrant creative scene is set to take centre stage once again as Mahindra Fusion Fest 2026 makes its highly anticipated return.
Scheduled for March at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, the second edition of the festival promises an immersive cultural experience where music, art and fashion converge in a powerful expression of identity, collaboration and innovation.
Following an acclaimed debut, Fusion Fest returns by popular demand, positioning itself as more than a one-night spectacle, Mahindra says in a statement.
Mahindra South Africa has designed the event as a cultural movement that reflects the country’s diversity and creative energy. Audiences can expect bold performances, unexpected collaborations and a platform that elevates both established icons and emerging talent.
Speaking ahead of the event, Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa, says, “Fusion Fest is more than a festival, it reflects the youthful vibrancy and diversity of the Rainbow Nation, bringing together music, fashion and art in a celebration of shared expression.
“It brings Mahindra’s Rise philosophy to life by showcasing how creativity and collaboration can unite different voices into something more powerful and defines who we are becoming as a brand in South Africa,” he adds.
According to Rajesh the success of the inaugural event confirmed the festival’s long term vision. “The response to the first edition reaffirmed that when cultures, ideas and generations come together, the impact extends far beyond a single moment.”
The 2026 programme is built around four genre defying fusion performances, each reflecting a different aspect of South Africa’s past, present and future. Every performance integrates live music with curated fashion and visual art, creating a seamless, multi-sensory experience.
Fusion One, titled Rewind the Revolution, features Zöe Modiga leading a musical journey from 1994 to the present, joined by Mafikizolo, Kurt Darren and Claire Johnston. The fashion component is curated by Imprint, with art by Durban born multidisciplinary artist Shaun Damn Vandal Oakley.
Fusion Two, Hip Hop Most High, brings together BLXKIE and Maglera Doe Boy with the Tshwane Gospel Choir in a powerful blend of hip hop and spiritual praise. Fashion is presented by The Bam Collective, while award winning illustrator Ndumiso Nyoni provides the visual art.
Fusion Three, Femme For All, celebrates women across generations with performances by Naledi Aphiwe, Karen Zoid, Nomfundo Moh and Mariechan. International visual artist Inka Kendzia delivers the artistic interpretation.
Fusion Four, All About Now, showcases amapiano driven performances by Zee Nxumalo, Focalistic and Daliwonga, paired with fashion by Munkus and art by Cape Town muralist Bushy Wopp.
At the heart of Fusion Fest 2026 is a nationwide call to entries across music, fashion and art. Winners in each category will receive R30 000 and perform or showcase their work on the main stage. Entries close on 31 January 2026.
