Hyundai Automotive South Africa has successfully defended its title, being named the Distributor of the Year for aftersales service by Hyundai Middle East, Africa and India, out of a total sixty countries.

This prestigious win marks the second consecutive year that the South African operation has taken top honours, following its global victory at last year's international seminar.

The consecutive awards cement the company’s passenger and commercial vehicle aftersales divisions at the absolute top of the brand's international network for operational excellence.

"Winning the Distributor of the Year award for service is far more than a mere recognition. It is a profound validation of our collective commitment to excellence and an affirmation of the high standards we consistently strive to uphold," says Michael Rohde, Aftersales Director at Hyundai Automotive South Africa.

Michael noted that securing back-to-back global awards validates the brand's long-term strategy of heavily investing in local infrastructure, staff expertise and customer care to keep South African motorists moving.

The global evaluation audited international distributors across four key metrics: Service Operations, Warranty Operations, Training and Customer Care. “Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s winning scorecard was bolstered by strong local metrics, including an outstanding Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 84%, reflecting high customer loyalty and strict dealer compliance,” Michael stated.

The division also achieved a perfect 100% warranty approval rate between local workshops and global factories while managing claim costs effectively. On the workforce front, Hyundai maintained a 93% certification rate for its Technicians and Service Advisors, while its dedicated customer care teams dropped vehicle concern turnaround times to an average of just three days.

"For their exceptional aftersales team, this award is a powerful stamp of approval for the Hyundai Automotive South Africa team to their daily diligence and passion. It acknowledges the countless hours spent ensuring customer satisfaction," says Beomseok Kang, Head of Global Service Subdivision.

With local car buyers holding onto their vehicles for longer amid rising cost-of-living pressures, reliable workshop support has shifted from a background function to a major brand differentiator in South Africa. "Ultimately, this award underscores the indispensable value of our aftersales service as a cornerstone of our business success," Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, says.
