South African farmers will be the first to experience the new GWM P500 bakkie, TANK 500 and the new Jolion SUV when the Chinese vehicle manufacturer heads to this year’s NAMPO Harvest Day, which is kicking off in Bothaville in the Free State tomorrow till Friday (14 to 17 May).

Now united as one under the GWM brand, the full range of P-Series bakkies – HAVAL, TANK and ORA – will be out in full force under one umbrella for the first time. The highlight of the One GWM show is without doubt these newcomers, which will be shown there in the flesh for the first time in South Africa.

NAMPO is one the biggest agricultural shows on earth. Attracting 50 000 farmers from across the length and breadth of South Africa and well beyond, it’s an incredible experience for all who attend. With everything from livestock displays to any conceivable agricultural product on show, the chance to experience tractors ploughing the field, and 4x4s stretching their legs on a central course, and so much more, it’s a farmer’s must-do.

Which makes NAMPO the perfect venue to unveil three of one of GWM’s biggest new products of the year. “NAMPO is one of the biggest and greatest expos in South Africa, so it is also a crucial show for any car brand,” GWM South Africa Chief Operations Officer, Conrad Groenewald, explains. “That is why NAMPO is the ideal platform for us to unveil our all-new GWM P500 double cab bakkie, as well as the new TANK 500 and the new Jolion.

Looking at the three new GWM products, the new P500 bakkie brings a new alternative to South Africa’s most vibrant new vehicle sector. “We are beyond excited to show our new four-wheel drive double cab P-Series bakkie to farmers,” GWM South Africa P-Series and TANK Brand Manager, Pumza Kondlo, confirms. “Without giving too much away, they can look forward to the choice of turbodiesel or petrol hybrid power and a few features like they have never seen before.”
